NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that Peter Raby formerly a member of the above named Parish Council has ceased to be a member thereof and that a causal vacancy exists in the office of Councilor for the said Parish.

If, within 14 days* after the date of this notice, a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the proper officer of the East Cambridgeshire District Council by ten electors for the said Parish an election will be held to fill the vacancy; otherwise, the vacancy will be filled by the Parish Council.  Costs for the said election will be charged to the Parish Council.

Trees Looking for Homes

The parish has acquired some trees (from the County Council), and would like to hear from anyone who has space to plant one or two, or more.

The species are: Green Beech; Horse Chestnut; Black Alder; small-leaved Lime; Spindle; Silver Birch; Rowan.

At the time of writing, there is at least one of each available. Please apply quickly.

These young trees are about six feet tall, with root balls, so quite substantial – and they need putting in the ground as soon as possible, as it’s the end of the planting season.
